JOHN W. BOYER

  John W. Boyer died at his home, Meyersdale, RD 2, on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 9 
a.m.  A retired coal miner, he was aged 81 years, 8 months and 23 days at the 
time of his death.
  He was born December 14, 1866, in Bedford County, a son of Jonathan and Mary 
(Null) Boyer.
  Surviving are his wife, Margaret (Sass) Boyer, three sons, Harry R., 
Meyersdale RD 2, James W., Meyersdale, and John A., Somerset RD 5; two 
daughters, Mrs. Ralph Werner, Meyersdale RD 2, and Mrs. Robert Duffey, 
Somerhill, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. Jane Kelley, Midland, Md.; 17 grandchildren, and 
seven great-grandchildren.
  Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 10, at 2:30 p.m. in 
Hays Reformed Church, of which he was a member.  The pastor, Rev. F. D. Witmer, 
will officiate.  Interment will be made in the church cemetery, under the 
direction of W.C. Price and Son.
