While fishing in Pine Lake, at North Lima, O., he was seized with a heart attack and fell into the water. Other members of the fishing party got him out of the water in a few minutes, before any water got in his lungs, and worked with him for several hours before convinced of the fact that he was dead. He was a son of James and Clara (Housel) Boyer, former residents of this community, now living at Poland, Ohio. Besides his parents he is survived by his wife and two small children, Betty and Ilene, one brother, J. Bruce Boyer, of Poland, Ohio, and one sister, Mrs. H. M. (Sarah) Richards, of Youngstown. He was a driver of a city bus in Youngstown for the last twelve years, and was recently presented a diamond ring by the bus company for having driven a bus for ten years without an accident. Several years ago he was presented with a gold watch for similar services. His body was brought to Meyersdale by his sorrowing relatives for burial in Union Cemetery. Funeral services were held at the Charles Yaist home on North Street, Wednesday afternoon. The remains were accompanied to their last resting place by the bereaved parents, brother, sister, wife and children. Meyersdale Republican, July 11, 1935
