He was born in Berlin, Feb. 15, 1920, and was a son of Earl E. Boyer, Glencoe, and the late Bessie (Mantz) Boyer. Two sisters and an infant daughter also preceded him in death. He was a retired carpenter for the Lashley Construction Company and an Army veteran of World War II. Prior to coming to Cumberland 19 years ago he resided in Irwin. He was a member of Kemp Lodge 154, AF&AM, Mount Savage; Old Rail Post 6025, VFW, Mount Savage; and Carpenters Union 1024, Cumberland. Surviving besides his father are his widow, Mrs. Mildred (Baker) Boyer; two sons, Charles Boyer, William Boyer, both of Corriganville; three daughters, Mrs. Darlene Bittner, Ellerslie; Mrs. Janet Dougherty, Clarksville, Tenn., and Mrs. Susan Hutzell, Charleston, S.C.; one brother, Roy Boyer, RD 1, Fairhope; five sisters, Mrs. Hazel Breig, North Kensington; Mrs. Mae Leister, Glencoe; Mrs. Fae Reiber, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Mrs. Marie Miller and Mrs. Jean Burk, both of Berlin; and six grandchildren. Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, where services were conducted with the Rev. Mark Waddell officiating. Interment will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Berlin.
