Born Aug. 4, 1924, in Berlin, the son of William Frederick and Anna B. (Miller) Braeseker Sr. Preceded in death by parents and sister, Betty Buckman. Survived by wife, the former Myra Ellen Kemp, to whom he was married 54 years; children, Mrs. Keith (Karen) Inscho, Johnstown; Jeffrey Braeseker, married to the former Marlene Dirienzo, Friedens; grandchildren, Brett Inscho; Rhonda, Rebecca and Billy Braeseker. Brother of Don Braeseker and sister-in-law Pat Taylor, both of Somerset. A 1942 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he served with the 17 and 82nd Airborne Divisions. He was in the Battle of the Bulge and the airborne invasion of Germany across the Rhine River. He had worked construction and as a field engineer for GTE for more than 40 years until his retirement in December 1986. Also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he was a choir member and served on the church council. Also a member of Last Man's Club in Berlin, as well as the American Legion and VFW Post 7245 in Berlin and Berlin Historical Society. He was a former member of the Laurel Highlands Chorale, barbershop group and the family singing group The Kinsmen. He enjoyed trips to the Smoky Mountains and to New England. He would attend National Airborne reunions every year and enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sports events, as well as gardening and traveling. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Linda J. McElroy officiating.
