  Alida Dorothy Brant, 83, 733 N. Center Avenue, Somerset, died Dec.
  31, 1988, at Somerset Community Hospital.  Born April 14, 1905, in
  Berlin, daughter of Theodore and Susan (Garlitz) Baker.  Preceded in
  death by parents; husband, Judd W., who died Jan. 7, 1988; daughters,
  Dorothy Deeter and Nellie Miller Boyer; two brothers and a sister. 
  Survived by these children:  Mrs. Charles (Ruth) Carney, Pittsburgh;
  James W., married to the former Erma Goodwin, York; Sydney, at home;
  11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  She retired from
  Somerset Community Hospital as a cook and was a member of Holy
  Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin.  Family received friends Monday
  evening and will receive friends 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner
  Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, the
  Rev. Melvin A. Kirk Jr. officiating.  Interment, I.O.O.F. Cemetery,
  Berlin.
