He was born Aug. 22, 1899, in Brothersvalley Township, and was a son of the late Bruce and Ida (Zimmerman) Brant. He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. He is survived by his wife, the former Orpha Marker; three daughters: Mrs. Leonard (Lucretia) Pyle, Somerset; Mrs. Jack (Glenavey) Thompson, Somerset RD 7; Mrs. Don (Betty) Briskey, Listie; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was a brother of: Park Brant, Somerset RD 6; Howard Brant, Somerset RD 5; Mrs. Paul Sheeler, Somerset RD 7; and Mrs. Minnie Merrill, Berlin. He was a WW I veteran, serving with the US Army, and was a coal worker by occupation. Friends were received at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, where funeral services were conducted with the Rev. Robert McNeal and the Rev. Paul Pikerowski officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. The Republic, March 25, 1982 [B2407]
