Born Dec. 17, 1945, in Berlin, the son of the late Clarence E. and Ferne (Barron) Brant Sr. He is also preceded in death by brother, Clarence E. Brant Jr. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Sadie (husband, C. Herbert) Harmon, and Shirley (husband, Emmett) Barron, both of Friedens; also survived by two nephews, Craig (wife, Debra) Barron and Chad Barron; and a niece, Elizabeth (husband, Eric) Ludy; good friend, Kay Cross; and extended family, Matthew Cross, Alexis Dees and Katie Barr; and good friends and neighbors, Ricky and Patty McCulloch and Todd Swanson. He retired in 2001 as a store manager at CVS Pharmacy, Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, with 40 years of service. Member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin. A 1963 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School. He enjoyed sports and was a great Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates and Altoona Curve fan. He served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant in the Vietnam War. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Service Inc., Berlin, and from 1 until time of service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin.
