  Carl L. Brant, 75, Rockwood, passed on Sept. 5, 2006, at home. Born Sept. 11,
  1930 in Black Township, he is the son of the late Norman and Orretta (Haer)
  Brant. He is also preceded in death by his wife Gracie in 2003. He is 
  survived by his children, Carla, married to Craig Barclay, Somerset; Tom 
  Brant, married to Diane, Somerset; and Chris Brant, Rockwood;
  granddaughter, Cayla Barclay; step-grand-sons, Josh and Zak Parke; sisters, 
  Virginia Arnold, Meyersdale; Shirley Varchetti, Somerset; and Geraldine
  Stahl, married to Norman, Somerset; and brother, Norman Brant Jr., Medina,
  Ohio. He was a retired employee of Sheesley Concrete in Johnstown. He is a
  veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the 
  Rockwood American Legion Post 279 and the Rockwood Sportsmen's Association.
  He was a member of Center Church in Garrett and attend-ed Laurel Mountain
  Chapel in Trent. He loved the outdoors and spent much time hunting, fishing
  and picking ginseng. Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at 
  Miller Funeral Home, Rockwood, where a service will be held at 11 a.m.
  Friday. The Rev. Don Judy officiating. Interment at Rockwood IOOF Cemetery.
  Graveside Military Rites accorded by the Somerset County Honor Guard.
