    Clara Edna (Lepley) LaBute-Brant, 96, Berlin died Aug. 13, 2006, at Meadow View Nursing
  Center. Born Aug. 26, 1909, in Brothersvalley Township, daughter of Charles and Catharine
  (Herwig) Lepley. Preceded in death by parents, husbands: Daniel J. LaBute and Miles H.
  Brant, granddaughter Joyce Custer, brothers: Adam, William, and John Lepley, sisters:
  Dorothy and Miriam Lepley, and Naomi Lape, daughter-in-law Peg LaBute, and nephew Neil
  Lape. Survived by these children: D. Lee LaBute married to the former Marilyn Walker of
  California, Pa.; C. Edward LaBute, Berlin; Evelyn married to George R. Hickey, Johnstown;
  Nancy married to Donald O. Custer, Berlin; and C. Ilene married to William L. Zeplin,
  Barrington, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. Also survived by a niece
  Jean Shaffer, Berlin, and nephews Charles and Reggie Lape of Ohio. She was a former
  volunteer at the former Maple Mountain Manor, and a lifelong member of St. Paul's Ridge
  United Church of Christ where she was very active. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and
  participating in the senior citizens group in Berlin. Family will receive friends from 2
  to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin where a service will be
  held at 11 a.m. Thursday. L.S. Warren Sterner and Rev. Charles Dunn officiating.
  Interment St. Paul's Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to St.
  Paul's Ridge Cemetery Association, c/o Shirley Landis, 266 Macdonaldton Road, Berlin, PA
