Brant, 85, of Meyersdale died August 5, 1983, at his home in Meyersdale. He was born Jan. 23, 1898, in Brothersvalley Township, Somerset County, the son of the late Samuel and Edith (Marker) Brant. He was a member of St. Paul's (Ridge) United Church of Christ, and was a deacon and former Sunday School superintendent. He also was a member of Local 268, United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He is survived by his wife, the former Sarah Jane Finley; three sons, Clarence B. Brant, Kunkletown; Floyd O. Brant, Garrett RD; and Clark E. Brant, Meyersdale; two daughters, Mrs. Rose Lindeman, Meyersdale, and Mrs. Elma Brown, Covina, Calif., 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde Brant, Greenville, and Herbert Brant, Sharon; two sisters, Mrs. Marion Welsh, Youngstown, Ohio, and Mrs. Emily Kennedy, Bristol. Friends were received at the Price Funeral Home where services were conducted at the funeral home by the Rev. Bobby Phillips. Interment was in the Berlin IOOF Cemetery.
