Jamestown Rd., Greenville, died March 2, 1993, at St. Paul Homes, Greenville. Born Nov. 15, 1901, in Somerset County. Son of Samuel and Edith (Marker) Brant. Preceded in death by his wife, Mamie, whom he married on Aug. 26, 1922, and she died on Jan. 6, 1964; one daughter, Velma, and one son, William E. Survived by four daughters - Mrs. Lawrence (Ethel) Baer, Greenville; Mrs. Lester (Ruby) Souers of Stow, Ohio; Mrs. Norman (Gail) Bestwick of Jackson Center, and Miss Violet Brant of St. Paul, Minn.; six sons - Richard E. of Hiram, Ohio; Forrest E., Talmadge, Ohio; Sylvester, Sommerfield, Fla.; Clifford A. and Edgar L., both of Greenville; Larry G. of Titusville, Fla.; one sister, Evelyn Kennedy of Philadelphia; 40 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He worked many years in the construction industry with Steiger Construction of Mercer. Member of the Jerusalem United Church of Christ of Greenville and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge of Mercer. Funeral and committal service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Loutzenhiser-Jordan Colonial Funeral Home, 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville, with the Rev. Mark Brant, grandson of the deceased and pastor of the Free Methodist Church in Jonesboro, Ga., officiating. Interment will take place at Delaware Cemetery.
