Preceded in death by parents; son, Dennis W.; brother, Harry Jr.; grand-daughter, Beverly Brant; and a daughter-in-law, Emily Brant. Survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Ardith Brocht; children, Gladys ÒSnookÓ Lohr, married to Lon, Stoystown; Kenneth, married to the former Stephanie Stewart, Garrett; Larry ÒPudgeÓ Brant, Meyersdale; and David, married to the former Melissa Caola, Garrett; grandchildren, Donald Legas and wife, Amy; Kelly Knotts, married to Jeff; Lacee Brant and fiance, Kevin Landis; Alason and Megan Brant; and stepgrand-son, Addison Holyfield. Also survived by great-grandchildren, Shawn Smith, Emily Legas and Bailey Knotts. Brother of Etha Yutzy, Garrett; Ferne Saylor, Ena Gray and Devon Brant, all of York. He was a retired mechanic for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission; a World War II Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient. Member of the Garrett Sportsman's Association, the Stoystown American Legion, and the Garrett United Church of Christ. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. A private memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday at Highland Cemetery, Garrett. The Rev. David Bowman officiating.
