  Emerson H. Brant, 78, Somerset, died April 23, 1988, in Somerset
  Community Hospital.  Born May 14, 1909 in Brothersvalley Township,
  son of the late George C. and Hattie (Berkley) Brant.  Also preceded
  by a son, Galen, and five brothers, Lloyd, Richard, Guy, Sam and
  Edward.  Survived by wife, the former Thelma A. Romesburg and these
  children:  Harvey G., married to the former Eleanor Carlson, Somerset
  RD 8; Mrs. Joseph (Viola) Krupper, Acosta; Mrs. Michael (E. Jane)
  Baglio, Ebensburg; and Mrs. Nancy Miller of Somerset; 13
  grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  Brother of Ernest and
  Jay, both of Dearborn, Mich.; Mrs. Richard (Margaret) Fisher and Mrs.
  Jay G. (Cleo) Barclay, both of Somerset RD 5; George J., Friedens RD
  1; Earl W. and Billy B., both of Somerset; Ray, of Boswell; Mrs.
  Ernest (Mary Etta) Brant, Berlin RD 4; and Mrs. Robert (Dorothy)
  Aultz, Listie.  Retired coal miner from Carl Rice Coal Company. 
  Member of Somerset Church of God and UMWA Local 1742.  Friends were
  received from 7-9 p.m. Sunday and will be received from 2-4 and 7-9
  p.m. Monday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where service will be
  held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Ralph Tinkey officiating. 
  Interment, St. John's Cemetery.  Family suggests contributions to the
  American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 364A Somerset.
