Brant, 84, of Shanksville, died July 11, 1986, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland, Md. Born Dec. 4, 1901, in Shanksville, son of the late Harvey and Mary (Will) Brant. Preceded in death by his wife, the former Elsie Kimmel; brother, James; and infant brother. Survived by several cousins. Retired bricklayer and stone mason. Formerly worked at Cambria Coal Fuel Company. He was a former mayor and borough councilman for over 20 years. Served on Shanksville-Stonycreek Township School Board for 28 years. Member of Shanksville United Methodist Church and Walker Cemetery Association board for 50 years. Somerset Lodge 438 I.O.O.F., Shanksville Rod and Gun Club secretary/treasurer, Potter County Camp. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Robert R. Slack.
