Brant, 78, 637 Painter St. Everson, died Sunday evening at Mt. Pleasant. Born June 12, 1909 in East Huntingdon Township, a son of the late Joseph Eaton and Ellen Elizabeth (Keck) Brant. He was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Scottdale. He was a retired employee of United States Steel, Irvin Works, with 25 years service. He was a member of Confluence VFW and Turkeyfoot Fish and Game Club of Confluence. He was also a member of the Scottdale VFW post. Surviving are a son, Joseph N. Brant, of Germany, a daughter Mrs. David (Ellen) Kita, of Everson, eight grandchildren including Mrs. Dub (Patti) Bailey of Mt. Pleasant, whom he raised, and three great-grandsons. He was pre-deceased by his wife Ferne Tannehill Brant on April 7, 1972, and a son Jack Brant, May 18, 1977. Friends will be received 4-9 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, the hour of the service, at the Frank Capr Funeral Home, 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, with the Reverend Donald G. Cochran, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Greenridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. Daily American, March 1, 1988 [B2472]
