Brant, 76, Somerset RD 2, died Nov. 18, 1987, at his residence. Born Dec. 14, 1910, in Brothersvalley Township, son of the late Harvey Clarence and Mary Elizabeth (Barkman) Brant. Also preceded by a son, William, four brothers and one sister. Survived by wife, the former Annabelle Maust; and these children: Jack H. and Donald R., both of Polk, Ohio; Mrs. Jean Welshons, Ligonier; Ronald L., Destin, Fla.; Mrs. Larry (Faye) Growden, Dana, Fla.; Blair E., McDonald, Pa.; Mrs. Rodger (Debra) Durstine, Greensburg; and Miss Sharon S. Brant, Somerset; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Brother of: Mrs. Erma Brant, Berlin RD 1; Mrs. Olive Oman, Jackson, Mich.; Ray, Berlin; Donald, Gray; and Richard, Hubbard, Ohio. Member of Mt. Laurel United Church of Christ and United Mine Workers of America. Retired coal miner from Laurie Mining Co., Adamsburg, Pa. Friends were received 7-9 p.m. Thursday and will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Mt. Laurel United Church of Christ with Rev. Joseph Beer officiating. Interment, Beams Cemetery. No viewing at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt.
