Brant, 75, one of the oldest and most prominent citizens of Garrett died at 8:45 o'clock Wednesday evening at her home. A daughter of William L. and Rena (Christner) Hoover, she was born on Dec. 7, 1869, in Garrett. Her husband, W. Lewis Brant, died a number of years ago. She was one of the organizers of Grace Reformed Church of Garrett, and one if its most devoted members for more than half a century and was an active member of the Willing Workers Society of the church. Eight children survive - Mrs. Nelle Lichliter, Swarthmore, Pa.; Mrs. Verda B. Herbolsheimer, Garrett; Mrs. Rena B. Armstrong and Mrs. Helen B. Miller, both of Detroit, Mich.; J. Edgar Brant, Tampa, Fla.; Charlotte A., Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Louise B. Habel, postmistress of Garrett, and George S. Brant, both at home. Funeral services will be conducted at the Brant home at 3 p.m. on Friday, by Rev. F. D. Witmer, pastor of Grace Reformed Church. Burial will be made in the Highland Cemetery.
