    Ira Henry "Sarge" Brant, 83, New Whiteland, Ind., formerly of
  Berlin, died Oct. 9, 1994, at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Franklin,
  Ind.  Born May 24, 1911, in Berlin, the son of the late Grant
  Marcellus and Nannie Mae (Knupp) Brant.  Also preceded in death by a
  brother, Paul A. Brant, and sisters: Susan E. Miller and Norma
  Scheffler.  Survived by his wife, the former Margaret Hemminger, and
  a son, Ira Henry Brant Jr. of Key West, Fla.; also 2 grandchildren. 
  Brother of Ray G. Brant of Somerset RD 2; John C. Brant of Zephyr
  Hills, Fla.; Homer R. Brant, Sherman, Texas, and a sister, Mrs.
  Albert G. (Maola) Rose of Confluence RD 3.  Veteran, U.S. Army,
  Korean War.  Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday
  in the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1
  p.m. Friday, the Rev. William L. Sleasman officiating.  Interment,
  Ridge Cemetery.
