BRANT Ira Javis Brant, 64, of 2140 West 100th St., Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of the Berlin area, died Aug. 8, 1974, in Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born Jan. 17, 1910, in Brothersvalley Township, he was a son of Fred W. and Pearl (Beachley) Brant. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Ethel Christner, and his mother. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Phillip (Donna Lee) Bluhme of Torrance, Calif.; James of Cleveland, Ohio; and Gay Ann, at home; two grandchildren; his father, Fred W. Brant, Berlin; and these brothers and sisters: Fred H., Berlin RD 1; Norwood of Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Clark (Pauline) Hoffman, Somerset RD 3; the Rev. Woodrow Brant, Tanora, Iowa; Lucy Jean of Berlin; and Lawrence of Garrett RD 1. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Cleveland, Ohio. Friends were received in Johnson and Son Funeral Home, Berlin, until Saturday evening, when Mr. Brant was transferred to Charles A. Mandley Funeral Home in Cleveland. Funeral service was held there Monday morning with Rev. H. H. Quitmeyer officiating. Interment there in Sunset Memorial Park. Meyersdale Republic, August 15, 1975 [B2480]
