Brant, 83, died Saturday morning, Feb. 15th, at his home, Berlin R.D. 2. He was born in Stonycreek Township, a son of Ephraim and Catherine (Woy) Brant and was a prosperous and well-known farmer. He retired a number of years ago due to ill health. Surviving are his wife, Melissa (Glessner) Brant and the following children: John F. Brant, Barberton, Ohio; Willard W. Brant, Johnstown; George E. Brant, Somerset; Charles H. Brant, at home; Mrs. Catherine Mort, Meyersdale; Mrs. H. E. Martz, Meyersdale; Mrs. Clarence F. Pyle, Somerset, and Miss Ruth Brant, Pittsburgh. One daughter, Grace, is deceased. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Anna Heinemeyer and Mrs. Jane Glessner, both of Stonycreek Twp., and eight grandchildren. Mr. Brant was a member of the Glade Lutheran Church. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Brant home, Rev. R. R. Richards, officiating. Burial in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Berlin, under direction of Johnson & Son. Meyersdale Republican, February 20, 1947
