Gordon Brant, 81, died June 9, 1979, at Maple Mountain Manor, Berlin. Born August 21, 1897, in Lincoln Township, son of John E. and Alice (Smith) Brant. Preceded in death by his wife, the former Elsie Florence Emert; two daughters, Blanche LaManche, and Pearl, an infant daughter; son, John Edmund; six brothers, three sisters. Survived by these children: Mrs. Richard (Milly) Burkholder, Friedens RD 1; Gordon Jr., Johnstown; Kenneth, Dayton, Ohio; Mrs. David (Gloria) Gall, Taneytown, Md. 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. Brother of Wilbert M., Friedens RD 1; and Monroe D., York. Member of Somerset Lodge 358 F. & A.M.; Carpenters Union. Former owner and operator of a farm, Somerset RD 5; former Somerset Township School Director; veteran of World War I. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Monday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where services will be conducted Wednesday, 11 a.m., the Rev. Herbert Lohr officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
