Brant, 71, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Somerset, died Feb. 9, 1989, at the V.A. Hospital in Oakland after a long illness. He was born Nov. 2, 1917, son of the late James L. and Ruth (Winscott) Brant of Somerset. He attended Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, until serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ruth (Brant) McClung of Baltimore, Md. He is survived by his sister, Ocie Lee (Brant) Judy, and his brother Robert E. Brant, both of Somerset, and by several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday at 10:30 a.m. by the Rev. Glenn Sadler. Interment to follow at Somerset County Memorial Park.
