Born Jan. 7, 1921, in Somerset Township, son of Cyrus Knepper and Nora B. (Sevits) Brant. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Dorothy Ellen Menser, who died April 25, 1993; granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Bowser; son-in-law, Thomas Dorcon Sr.; brothers, Forrest "Red," Leo and Claude "Tub" Brant; sisters, June Brant, Marie Salyers, Winifred Baer and Hester Mack. Also and Survived by daughters, Linda Dorcon, Berlin; Mrs. Karl S. (Vicki) Bowser, Friedens; grandchildren, Thomas Dorcon Jr. and wife, Becky, Berlin; Lindsay Dorcon, Berlin; Nicholas Dorcon, Alexandria, Va.; Michael Bowser and wife, Melissa, Friedens; and Jason Bowser and wife, Jill, Frederick, Md.; great- grandchildren, Alexandra and Grace Dorcon; Mallory, Matthew and Andrew Bowser; and sister, Frances "Peg" Revello, Somerset. A 1940 graduate of Somerset High School. U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he served as a tank gunner in the 899th Division. Worked as a groundskeeper for the former Somerset State Hospital, retiring in 1981 with 30 years of service. Also a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Last Man's Club in Berlin and a life member of VFW Post 554. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Eric Raygor officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. Contributions may be made in his memory to Grace United Methodist Church, 320 Felgar Road, Somerset, PA 15501.
