He had been ill for two months. Mr. Brant was the son of the late Josiah and Louise Hersh Brant and was 84 years old. He was a prosperous farmer until the time of his retirement due to advanced years. His wife, Rebecca Brant, died in 1936. He was a member of the Reformed Church. He is survived by the following children: Burton B., Johnstown; Charles, employed in the Berlin postoffice; Harry, Garrett; Merle, Baltimore, Md.; Paul, Johnstown; Mrs. Stahl, mentioned, and Mrs. Earl Pritts, Shaw, W.Va., and these brothers and sisters: Joseph and Irvin, Somerset, R.D.; George, Berlin, R.D.; Mrs. Noah Beachley, Garrett, R.D.; Mrs. Irvin Brant, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. Richard Christner, Garrett, and Mrs. Clinton Sivits, Berlin, R.D. Funeral services were held in the Ridge Reformed Church, Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. F. D. Witmer, his pastor, officiating. Interment in the Ridge Church cemetery, under the direction of Johnson & Son. Meyersdale Republican, August 24, 1944
