MADISON BRANT

  Madison Brant, 82, during his active life a prosperous Brothersvalley Township 
farmer, died last Saturday night in the Somerset State Hospital after an illness 
of several years.
  He was born August 4, 1860, a son of Frances and Mary (Hauger) Brant.  His 
wife, Emma (Coleman) Brant died four years ago.  The following children survive:  
Norman Brant, Berlin; Henry F. Brant, St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Jacob Yutzy, Berlin; 
Charles M. Brant, Orlando, Fla.; Claude Brant, Berlin, R.D.; Roy C. Brant, 
Meyersdale R.D.
  Oliver Brant of Berlin R.D. is a brother and the following are surviving 
sisters: Mrs. Minnie Beachley, Carlisle, Ark.; Mrs. J. H. Hentz, Berlin R.D.; 
Mrs. Amy Beal, Berlin.
  Funeral services were Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 in the Johnson Funeral Home in 
Berlin, Rev. A. Jay Replogle, pastor of the Beachdale Church of the Brethren 
officiating.  Interment in the Hay's Church Cemetery.
