    Mary Ellen Brant, 95, Salisbury, died Sept. 25, 1997, at Sacred
  Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.  Born May 3, 1902, in Summit
  Township, daughter of the late Ira and Susan (Frickey) Johnson. 
  Preceded in death by her husband, Solomon G.; daughter, Grace Murray,
  and grandson, James E. Brant Jr.  Survived by these children: Roy S.
  and his wife, Gladys Knox, Meyersdale; James E. and his wife, Rayette
  Brown, and John W. and his wife, Mary Puffburg, both of Springs;
  Mildred, wife of Irvin Mishler, Akron, Ohio; Mary, wife of Paul
  Mishler, Meyersdale; Betty, wife of the late Richard Deitz, Somerset;
  Mae, wife of George Baker, Wilmington, Del., and Olive, wife of Lale
  Moore, Berlin; 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 3
  great-great-grandchildren.  Also survived by two brothers and a
  sister: Clarence Johnson, Johnstown; John Schrock, Meyersdale, and
  Olive Burkholder, Berlin.  Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9
  p.m. Friday at the Leckemby Funeral Home, where service will be at 11
  a.m. Saturday, with Pastor Steven J. Heatwole officiating.  Interment,
  Union Cemetery.
