Brant, 86, Berlin RD 4, died Oct. 3, 1984, at the Church of the Brethren Home, Windber. He was born Oct. 23, 1897, in Brothersvalley Township, son of Franklin O. and Cora (Rhoads) Brant. Preceded in death by parents; a grandchild, Gary Phennicie; and a brother, Walter. He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth Snyder, and these children: Mrs. Frank (Edna) Phennicie, Mesa, Ariz.; Mrs. James (Evelyn) English, Hagerstown, Md.; and Mrs. Leo (Dorothy) Bittner, Berlin RD 4; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also, a sister, Mrs. Alma Shober of Martinsburg. He was a retired farmer. His death ended a marriage union of 65 years. He was a member of Beachdale Church of the Brethren. A former member of Valley Grange, No. 878, and Berlin Lodge No. 461, I.O.O.F. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Kermit Jones officiating.
