  MILES H. BRANT
  
    Miles H. Brant, 79, of Berlin RD 4, died June 27, 1978, at
  Meyersdale Community Hospital.  Born Jan. 6, 1899 in Brothersvalley
  Township, he was a son of Henry and Susan (Sevits) Brant.
    He was preceded in death by parents, one brother and four
  sisters.  He is survived by his wife, the former Clara (Lepley)
  LaBute; one daughter, Mrs. John (Doris) Grigg, of West Palm Beach,
  Fla.; one son, Jack of Hollywood, Fla.; four grandchildren; and four
  great-grandchildren; also these stepchildren: Lee LaBute, California,
  Pa.; Edward LaBute, Berlin; Mrs. George (Evelyn) Hickey, Johnstown RD
  4; Mrs. Donald (Nancy) Custer, Berlin; and Mrs. William (Eileen)
  Zeplin, Chicago (Barrington), Ill.; 17 step-grandchildren; and two
  step-great-grandchildren.
    He attended Penn State University, retired in 1962 after 42 years
  with the B&O Railroad, member of the Brotherhood of Railroad
  Trainmen, Brethren Church of Cumberland, (Md.) St. Paul's (Ridge)
  Church Sunday School, Berlin Area Senior Citizens.
    At his request, there was no viewing.  Relatives and friends were
  invited to attend a graveside service held Friday at the St. Paul's
  Ridge Church Cemetery with Mr. Harvey Stouffer officiating.  Also at
  his request, in lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory could be
  made to the St. Paul Ridge Cemetery Fund.  Arrangements were by
  Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin.
