  BRANT
  
  Monroe D. Brant, Sr., 71, of York, died at his residence Nov. 4,
  1983.  Born Dec. 3, 1911, in Lincoln Township, he was a son of the
  late John E. and Alice (Smith) Brant.  Also preceded in death by
  brothers, James, Park, Gordon, Paul, Jacob, George and Glenn, and
  sisters, Mayme Emert, Raye Spangler and Madie Bittner.  Survived by
  daughter, Wanda L. Brant Arvin, Manchester; son, Monroe D. Brant Jr.,
  York; and stepson, Eugene W. Frey Jr., Buffalo Grove, Ill.; also four
  grandchildren.  Brother of Wilbert Brant, Friedens RD 1.  He was
  proprietor of the Monroe Brant Vending Co. in York and was a member
  of numerous fraternal and community organizations.  Funeral services
  were held in York.  Interment, Mt. Rose Cemetery, York.
