He was born April 14, 1900, in Lincoln Township, son of the late John E. and Alice R. (Smith) Brant. He was preceded in death by wife, the former Mary Catherine Emert; an infant son, Paul Jr.; five brothers and three sisters. He is survived by these children: Mrs. George (Miriam) Weicht of Somerset; Mrs. Ray (Anna) Walker of Somerset RD 2; Mrs. Raymond (Sara Alice) Shaffer of Somerset RD 5; H. James, Mrs. Edward (Margaret) Cramer, Mrs. E. W. (Linda) Cramer Jr., Dorothy and Lois, all of Friedens RD 1; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was a brother of Wilbert of Friedens RD 1, Monroe of York, and Gordon of Berlin. He attended the Beulah United Methodist Church and owned and operated a dairy farm for 50 years and a saw mill for 40 years. He served on the Lincoln Township School Board for a number of terms. Friends were received at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where services were conducted with the Rev. Herbert Lohr officiating. Interment, Beulah Cemetery.
