Born Feb. 2, 1912, in Cambria County, daughter of George and Blanche (Brallier) Baughman. Preceded in death by parents, first husband Blaine C. Shankel in 1952, second husband William Wert in 1986, sister Ruth Griffith and brothers Glenn and Ray. Survived by husband Donald Brant Sr.; son Dean Shankel, married to Marjorie Beener, Uniontown, Ohio; grandsons Ronald and Randy Shankel; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and stepchildren Don Brant Jr., James Brant, Kathleen Straw and Christopher Brant. Also survived by numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Former active member of the Mt. Laurel United Church of Christ near Gray, where she had been a long-time member of the choir. Retired employee of the former Somerset State Hospital. Friends received from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell. Viewing also from 10 a.m. until time of service 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Laurel Church, the Rev.
