  RAY W. BRANT
  
  Ray W. Brant, 74, Berlin, died May 3, 1989, at Windber Hospital. 
  Born Feb. 14, 1915, in Brothersvalley Township, son of Harvey and
  Mary (Barkman) Brant.  Preceded in death by parents; brothers Howard,
  Earl and Clarence; and sister Mae.  Survived by his wife of 50 years,
  the former Mae Gindlesperger; and these children: Eleanor Thomas,
  Garrett RD 1; Carey, at home; Karen Buratty, Somerset; 2
  grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.  Brother of: Donald, Gray;
  Richard, Hubbard, Ohio; Ollie Oman, Michigan; and Erma Brant, Berlin
  RD 1.  Retired coal miner and former employee of Maple Mountain
  Manor.  Member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin; and the
  Berlin Fire Department and Ambulance Association.  Family will
  receive friends 7-9 p.m. Thursday, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at
  Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 10 a.m.
  Saturday, with the Rev. Melvin A. Kirk Jr. officiating.  Interment,
  Fritz Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be given to the Windber
  Hospital Hospice.
