Brant, 70, of Hiram, Ohio, died Wednesday, July 5, 1995, at his residence after a short illness. Mr. Brant was born Dec. 19, 1924, in Garrett, Pa., the son of Clyde C. and Mamie Brant. He had been a Hiram-area resident the past 40 years. Mr. Brant was a member of Local 639, Carpenter-Millwright Union, of Akron, Ohio, and was a 50-year member. He was also self-employed the past 15 years in the landscaping business as well as presently being employed as a custodian for the Kentson School System. He was a member of the Western Reserve Chapter Hudson-Essex Terraplane Club. On Jan. 31, 1947, he married the former Leta Wilke at Mantua, Ohio. Survivors include his wife, at home; one son, Cal Brant of Mantua; four daughters: Mrs. Larry (Carolyn) Greer of Charlotte, N.C.; Mrs. Michael S. (Cindy) Zuccaro of Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Rod (Edee) Kirkendall of Malvern, Ohio, and Mrs. Fred (Amy) Sittner of Mantua; four brothers: Sylvester Brant of Mercer, Pa.; Clifford and Edgar Brant, both of Greenville, Pa., and Larry Brant of Titusville, Fla.; four sisters: Ethel Baer of Mercer, Pa.; Ruby Souers of Stow, Ohio; Gail Bestwick of Jackson Center, Pa., and Violet Brant of St. Paul, Minn. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Forrest Brant, and one sister, Velma Brant. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Green's Funeral Home in Mantua, where the funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Mark Brant and Rev. Michael Weber will officiate.
