Brant, 84, of Meyersdale RD 4, died June 13, 1997, at Somerset Hospital. Born April 6, 1913, in Brothersvalley Twp. A son of the late Charles H. and Nancy (Tipton) Brant. Also preceded in death by his wife, the former Melda B. Folk, April 7, 1997. Survived by four sons: Roy E. Brant Jr., Saegertown, Pa.; William C. Brant, Kingwood, Texas; John W. Brant, Grove City, Ohio, and Larry J. Brant, Fallston, Md. Also 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Brother of James R. Brant, Garrett RD 1; Edna Llewellyn, Berlin RD 4, and Florence Rentzel, Gettysburg. Member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Meyersdale, where he served on the church council, property committee, Sunday School superintendent and was a member of the church choir. Retired Pennsylvania highway worker. Served as a Summit Township supervisor and Judge of Elections. He instilled work ethic in his sons by working alongside them to earn money for their college education. He also enjoyed playing softball, hunting and fishing with his sons. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale. Service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Zion Lutheran Church, with Pastor Randall Marburger officiating. Interment, Union Cemetery, Meyersdale.
