SAMUEL E. BRANT

  Samuel E. Brant of Pittsburgh died suddenly February 21, 1949, after a long 
illness.  He was born August 18, 1876, near Buffalo Mills, Bedford County, the 
son of John and Ella Garber Brant.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ada 
Shumaker Brant, and two children, Dr. Robert E. Brant of Phoenixville, Pa., and 
Sarah E. Brant at home, and one grandson, Robert Shaw Brant.  He was one of 
eleven children of whom five are living.  He was a retired employee of the 
Pennsylvania Railroad.
  Funeral services were held Thursday night at the Rodeniser Funeral Home in 
Pittsburgh and additional services were held at Mt. Lebanon Church near Berlin, 
Pa.  Interment was made in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.  The Rev. Wayne R. Woods of 
Pittsburgh held both services and the Hyndman Masonic Lodge 589 gave last rites 
at the grave.
