  VERDA L. BRANT
  
    Verda L. Brant, 89, of Garrett RD 1, died Nov. 4, 1983, at Somerset
  Community Hospital.
    She was born Sept. 2, 1894, in Brothersvalley Township, a daughter
  of John and Anna (Hauger) Long.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and four
  sisters.
    She is survived by her husband, Homer; a son, Dale E., Garrett RD
  1; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
    She was a life-long and faithful member of Beachdale Church of the
  Brethren, past president of Women's Fellowship and very active in the
  Sunday school.  She taught school in Brothersvalley Township for 18
  years.  Her death ended a marriage union of 52 years.
    Friends were received at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin,
  where services were held with the Rev. Wilbur Fischer officiating. 
  Interment, Beachdale Cemetery.
