BRANT William Perry Brant, 67, of Keystone Mines, died Friday, Sept. 13, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Albert Lowry, Meyersdale R.D. 3. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday. Rev. H. K. Hilner, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Meyersdale, officiated. Interment in Union Cemetery under direction of H. R. Konhaus. Mr. Brant died while visiting at the farm of Ralph Martz. The two men were engaged in conversation for a few minutes prior to Mr. Martz going into his barn. When he came out he found Mr. Brant dead. William P. Brant was born at Sand Patch on Mar. 19, 1879, a son of the late Nelson and Elizabeth (Domer) Brant. He is survived by his wife, the former Sara Glover, and four children - Mrs. Elizabeth Platter, Daisytown; Mrs. Lowry, mentioned above, Nelson Brant, at home, and John Brant, Windber. There are 23 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The deceased was a brother of Mrs. Martha Snyder, Meyersdale; Mrs. Susan Stump, Mrs. Pearl Quinn and Mrs. Mary Campbell, all of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Anna Lauver, Washington, D.C. Mr. Brant was an outstanding athlete during his early manhood, especially excelling as a baseball player. Meyersdale Republican, September 20, 1946
