BRENNEMAN Elmer Ellsworth Brenneman, 21, son of the late Simon and Mrs. Susie Brenneman of Bittinger, Md., died March 29, in Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, where he has been a patient for five weeks, following an operation for removal of a tumor. He graduated from the Grantsville High School, class of 1940, and was employed as carpenter in Washington, D.C., for two years. The last two years he was on the home farm with his mother. Surviving are his mother, four brothers - Harold, at home; Lawrence, of Bittinger; Cpl. Russell Brenneman and T/5 Homer Brenneman, with the armed forces in Germany, and two sisters, Fern, at home, and Mrs. Walter Krause of Frostburg, Md. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Bittinger Lutheran Church with Rev. George Bowersox, pastor of the Grantsville Lutheran Church, officiating. The pallbearers were cousins, Bruce, Glen, Dale, Harry, Robert and Martin Brenneman. Interment in the church cemetery nearby. Meyersdale Republican, April 5, 1945
