Brenneman, a prominent farmer and highly esteemed citizen of Elk Lick Township, died at his home a short distance south of the Folk Cross Roads, March 6, 1941, aged 57 years, 6 months and 15 days. His death was caused by diseased kidneys. He was a son of the late Jonas D. and Lydia (Bender) Brenneman, and was born in Garrett County, Md.; but during the greater portion of his life resided in Elk Lick Township, Somerset County, Pa., and was respected as an upright, conscientious man by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife and these children: Elmer, Meyersdale, R.F.D.; Menno and Eli, Springs, Pa.; Annie, Alvin, Simon and Floyd, at home. Funeral was held at the Niverton Amish Mennonite Church, of which Mr. Brenneman was a consistant and faithful member. The service was conducted by Minister Joseph J. Yoder of Summit Township, at 10 a.m., last Saturday, and was largely attended. Interment was in the church cemetery under the direction of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas, of Salisbury.
