Briar, 92, Uniontown, passed away Dec.13, 2005, in INS of Greater Pittsburgh, Greensburg. He was born Nov. 22, 1913, in Oliver, the son of the late Joseph and Mary Bryja. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Frank Bryja; and sisters, Mary Salamenta, Nellie Martin and Julie Samuelson. He is survived by son, Thomas Briar and wife, Carol, Addison; daughters, Betty Ann Punday and husband, Thomas, Uniontown; and Kathleen Briar, Irwin; grandchildren, Daniel Punday and wife, Carol, Munster, Ind.; Michele Dulemba and husband, Ronald, Irwin; and Christine Kent and husband, Kevin, Belle Vernon; five great-grandchildren, Ambur Dulemba, Ashley Dulemba, Samuel Punday, Mason Kent and Kolby Kent; brother, Walter Briar, Hudson, Ohio; sisters, Helen Andrews and husband, Nick, Englewood, Fla.; and Ann Luginskie and husband, John, Holly Hill, Fla.; and many loving nieces and nephews and their families. He was a member of Saint Johns the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church of Uniontown and the former owner of the Rainbow Club in Lemont Furnace. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Stephen E. Kezmarsky III Funeral Home, 71 Pennsylvania Ave., Uniontown, and until 9 a.m Saturday morning, when Prayers of Transfer will be said, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. Michael J. Crookston celebrant. Interment will follow in the Addison Cemetery.
