BRIGHT A man who was well known in Meyersdale died Saturday. Ray L. Bright, who served for many years as principal at Meyersdale Area High, succumbed after an extended illness. Mr. bright served as High School principal from 1959 to 1966. In 1966 he was appointed as supervising principal for this district, and held the position until 1971 when he retired and moved with his family to Springs Mills. David Duppstadt, present supervising principal of Meyersdale Area High School, and a co-worker with Mr. Bright said, "There are a lot of good things you could say of Ray Bright. I always appreciated him for his sincerity and honesty. He was an honest person who had the interest of the students at heart and always tried to assure everyone was treated well and fairly." Ray Bright was born December 24, 1907. He died February 24, 1979 at the age of 71 in Spring Mills, Pa. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Spring Mills RD 1; two sons, Jim, of Lewistown, and Fred of New York; three sisters and four brothers. The Republic, March 1, 1979 [B2678]
