W. Brill, 86, Poland, Ohio, died Aug. 18, 2006, at his residence. Born Nov. 26, 1919, in Somerset, a son of Edward B. and Mary (Miller) Brill, and moved to Ohio in 1946. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Earl Brill. He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth Swearman, whom he married Jan. 1, 1942; four daughters Candace (William) Frech, Niles, Ohio; Carol Ann Brill, at home; Cathy (Michael) DeCecca, Fairport, N.Y.; and Carla (Michael) Waters, Peachtree City, Ga. He is also survived by three grandchildren, William Frech Jr., Katie and Melinda DeCecca. A sister Edith (Glendon) Miller, Johnstown and a brother Charles Brill, Somerset. He was a 1937 graduate of Somerset High School and a 1952 graduate of Youngstown College receiving a bachelor's degree in business administration. A World War II veteran, he served overseas, stationed at Camp Atterburg in Tehran, Iran, in a railway operating battalion, hauling supplies from the Iranian Persian Gulf Port of Khorramshahr, on the Iranian State Railway to Russia. Mr. Brill had worked for the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad as a division personnel supervisor and an engineer for 40 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the John Calvin-St. Paul United Church of Christ where he was a consistory member, treasurer and choir member.
