  ALVIN E. BROADWATER
  
    Alvin E. Broadwater, 66, of 203 Upper Consol Road, died Tuesday,
  August 27, 1985, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
    Born Jan. 14, 1919 in Avilton, he was a son of the late James A.
  Broadwater and Martha (Platter) Broadwater.
    He was employed as a timberman.  He was a member of St. Ann's
  Catholic Church, Avilton.
    Surviving are his widow, the former Margaret G. Beeman; two
  stepsons, Francis Wilhelm, Lonaconing, Md.; David Wilhelm, Frostburg,
  Md.; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Rachel Koffman, Cowansville; Mrs. Mary
  Wellings, Frostburg; Mrs. Carolyn Stanton, Grantsville, Md.; Mrs.
  Audrey Nicol, Lonaconing; five brothers, Lee Broadwater, Lonaconing;
  Marshall Broadwater and Roy Broadwater, both of Avilton, Md.; Charles
  Broadwater, Terra Alta, W.Va.; Russell Broadwater, Frostburg; three
  sisters, Mrs. Eva Lewis, Frostburg; Mrs. Laura Broadwater,
  Cresaptown, Md.; Mrs. Arvella Galliher, of California, and 22
  step-grandchildren.
    Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville.
    Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Ann's Church
  Thursday at 11 a.m. by Father William Moody.  Interment, parish
  cemetery.
