Born April 30, 1911, at Avilton, Md. he was the son of the late Herman L. and Amelia (Warne) Broadwater. His wife, Charlotte (Michael) Broadwater, preceded him in death in 1985. He was self-employed as the owner and operator of Broadwater's Esso Service Station at Baltimore Pike, Cumberland, Md. Surviving are one son, Clinton Broadwater, Lillian; one daughter, Mrs. Silvia Lee, Jacksonville, Fla.; five brothers, Herbert Broadwater and Clem Broadwater, both of Westernport, Md.; Archibald Broadwater, Daniel Broadwater and Herman Broadwater, all three of Baltimore, Md.; one step-brother, Edward Hershberger, Baltimore, Md.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Jane Ours, Keyser, W.Va.; Mrs. Janet Lou Bradley and Mrs. Evelyn Fazenbaker, both of Westernport, Md.; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where services were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Joseph Upole. Interment, Mount Zion Methodist Cemetery.
