Broadwater, shortly after being stricken with a heart attack at her home on Thursday evening, April 5th, at 5:30. She apparently was well when she was stricken. She was the daughter of the late F. Josephine and Elizabeth (Spiker) Glotfelty, and was born at Bittinger, Md., April 12, 1896. She was graduated at the Friendsville High School in 1918 and was later employed as clerk in G. Broadwater & Sons' store in Grantsville. She married Nevin U. Broadwater, Oct. 1920. Surviving are her husband, two sons, David, in the Navy at Bainbridge, Md., and Richard, at home, and one grandson, Ronald Broadwater; also two sisters, Mrs. Nell Stricker of Finksburg, Md., and three brothers, Orval, Elwood and Kermit, of Bittinger, Md., and Mrs. June Beachy, a foster sister. Mrs. Broadwater was a faithful and active member of the Lutheran Church. She was president of the Missionary Society for a number of years and recently became a life member of the society. She was past president of the Grantsville Women's Community Club, and an active member for years. She completed the Women's Short Course at the University of Maryland. Her personality was quiet and unassuming, but she made many friends in the community. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 4:30. Her pastor, Rev. G. E. Bowersox, and former pastor, Rev. S. D. Sigler, of Dubois, Pa., officiated. They both paid high tribute to the fine Christian life of Mrs. Broadwater. Duets, "Rock of Ages" and "Meet Me in Heaven," were sung by Mrs. Harry Yommer and Mrs. Harry Hoover. The funeral was largely attended, and the floral tributes were many and beautiful. The pallbearers were Harvey Gortner, Sam Hanft and Harold Miller, members of the Lutheran Church, and Harry O. Miller, O. J. Glotfelty and Paul Kinsinger, of the Evangelical and Reformed Church. The members of the Missionary Society acted as a guard of honor at the home and at the grave, reciting the society's closing prayer. Interment was made in the Grantsville cemetery.
