Born in Meyersdale in 1928. She is preceded in death by her husband Hubert "Butch". She is survived by children: Richard (Lisa) of Akron and Dean O. (Meg) of Cuyahoga Falls, Diana Kay Snider (Dennis) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren: Jason, Beth, Dean S., Brittney Kay, Elgin and Brice; sisters, Emma Kathryn "Katy" (Paul) Durst of Pa., Mary Beachy (Virgil) of Md., brother Bill (Jane) Shultz of Pa. as well as many nieces and nephews. Ruth moved to Cuyahoga Falls in 1951 and has been an area resident ever since. She attended the Emmanuel United Church of Christ. Ruth was employed as a seamstress by both The Clarkins on Steels, Corner Road and the Euclid Garment Co. retiring in 1997. Friends will be received Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the McGowan-Reid & Santos Funeral Home, 239 Stow Avenue, one block east of Portage Trail, between second and third streets in Cuyahoga Falls where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jay Schmidt officiating. Interment Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ruth's memory to The Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 1480 Eastwood Ave., Akron, Ohio 44305.
