SARAH DUCKWORTH BROADWATER

Grantsville, Maryland

  Mrs. Sarah Duckworth Broadwater, widow of Henry M. Broadwater, died at her 
home near New Germany on March 26.  She was past 87 years of age.  Her husband 
died in 1926.  She is survived by six children - James, Charles and Bertha, at 
home; Salem, of Oakland; Mrs. Marshall Durst, New Germany, and Mrs. Sam Miller, 
Akron, O. - 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; also by the following 
brothers and sisters: Israel Duckworth, Stephen Duckworth and Mrs. Annie Stark, 
Lonaconing, and Mrs. Mary Groves, of Jennings.  The funeral was held Saturday 
afternoon at the New Germany Methodist Church, and was largely attended by 
relatives and friends.  Rev. A. C. Bell officiated.  Interment was in the 
adjoining cemetery.
