BROADWATER Stephen F. Broadwater, 90 years old, died Monday night, Oct. 30, at 10:30 o'clock at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Broadwater, New Germany, Md. He had been in failing health for some time and had been seriously ill for the last five weeks. He was the son of the late John and Mary (Custer) Broadwater and was born July 19, 1854 at New Germany. Besides his son, Floyd, he is survived by another son, Raymond Broadwater, Avilton; four brothers, Peter and Bert, Avilton; John, Finzel; and Waldo, Moscow, also by 17 grandchildren. Mr. Broadwater's father, John, was a brother of the late William C. (King Billy) Broadwater of Grantsville. Stephen Broadwater was a faithful member of the Methodist Church at New Germany for 55 years. Funeral services were conducted in the church by Rev. Robert Henson, assisted by Rev. Ira S. Monn of the Reformed Church. The pallbearers were: Lorraine and Sam Otto, Manley Broadwater, Parker Warnick, Harry Murray and Elmer Durst. Interment was made in the New Germany Cemetery.
