Brocht, 85, of Garrett, died Feb. 10, 1990, at Meyersdale Hospital. Born March 13, 1904, in Garrett, son of Bruce and Mary (Fisher) Brocht. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Reba Weaver; children, Galen H., Richard and Geneva Decker; brothers John, Roy and Bill; and sisters Dolly, Pauline and Mabel Walker. Survived by daughter, Mrs. Donald (Bernice) Custer of Broadway, Virginia; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Brother of Homer of Rockwood; Rosella Hall of Berlin; Emma Romesberg and Ruth Barron, both of Somerset; and Helen Fuller of Clairton. Retired coal miner, member of the Garrett Church of the Brethren, U.M.W.A., Garrett Fire Co., and Senior Citizens and the Brooklyn Hunting Camp. Family received friends Sunday evening and will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. William Phennicie officiating. Interment, Highland Cemetery, Garrett. Memorial contributions may be made to the Garrett Church of the Brethren. Daily American, February 12, 1990 [B2760]
