  JAMES E. BRODE
  
    James E. Brode, 74, of 160 Frost Avenue, died Monday, July 21,
  1986, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
    Born in Frostburg, Md., he was a son of the late Solomon Brode and
  Kate (Murrell) Brode.
    He was a retired Allegany Ballistics Laboratory employee, a life
  member of Salem United Church of Christ and its Consistory and Men's
  Bible Class, and was president of Frostburg Senior Citizens.  A World
  War II veteran, he served with the 78th Division in the European
  Theater of Operations.
    Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Blodwyn (Davis) Brode; one son, Paul
  Brode, Frostburg, Md.; and one brother, Joseph Brode, Berlin.
    Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home Wednesday from
  2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
